It’s the last day of the school Easter Holidays today and so I am still lazing around in my pjs catching up on some admin and looking forward to grabbing back a few more hours of reading next week.
It’s been a busy old week for new publications this week including these great books which I have reviewed here recently
A Tapping at My Door by David Jackson
Tastes Like Fear by Sarah Hilary
The Second Chance Shoe Shop by Marcie Steele
At the moment I am reading this and hope to finish and review very soon
That is one scary cover isn’t it!
Last night I attended my first meeting of The Knutsford Literary Society which has only recently started up and meets on the first Thursday of the month at Corks Out in Knutsford, Cheshire. It’s a fabulous little venue and I had a very delicious G&T while listening to a reading from a local author. Debbie Bennett (she writes as D.J Bennett) gave us a fascinating talk about her life as a writer and also her real life experiences in law enforcement that led to her ideas for her books. She read the first chapter of Hamelins Child and when she finished I just knew I had to get myself a copy as soon as I got home (keep an eye out for my review in the near future). I also met other local authors (the lovely Susie Medwell who writes as Zara Stoneley and also USA Today best-selling author C.C Mackenzie) and am looking forward to hearing them talk more about their books and writing experiences in future months.
Happy Friday everyone!
