Lazy Sunday Morning…

So I’m still laying in bed having a lazy Sunday morning! I’ve had a bit of a busy week this week and haven’t been blogging daily like I normally do. We started the week well with everyone back to school and work but by Tuesday we had no living room ceiling due to a leaky hot water tank which led to a day of arguments with insurance companies. On a positive note though, we watched the Tour of Britain come through our village and I was very proud of the turnout-things like that really seem to bring our little community together. And the other fabulous thing that happened was that our new bed and mattress were delivered-hence why I am still curled up enjoying no springs digging into me and not rolling off the edge every time I turn over!

Book wise I took part in two brilliant blog tours this week Matching the Evidence by Graham Smith **Blog Tour** Publication Day Guest Post! And also All Fall Down by Tom Bale **Blog Tour**  My favourite book of the week was the totally unexpected brilliance that was Breaking Dead by Corrie Jackson which you should definitely check out for your TBR piles! The other book that I’ve just finished I can’t actually tell you about yet as its a beta read but when the time comes you will find me raving about it so watch this space!

I’m currently on book 179 of my 200 book Goodreads Reading Challenge so fingers crossed I will reach it next month. But my reading will probably be slowing down over the next week or so as, I’m sure a few of you know already, we are expecting the arrival of our fourth grandchild any day now! So if I go a bit quiet then you will know why!

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone and happy reading!

I am a Norfolk girl living in leafy Cheshire with my grumpy Scotsman. A mum and nana who lives for my family but who is also addicted to reading (and Marmite!) I will read almost anything but my preferred genres to review are psychological thrillers, crime procedural novels or women's fiction. My kindle is my life but I also have a substantial bookshelf in my cosy reading room where I can go to escape the stresses of family life with plenty of tea and chocolate. I am a member of netgalley and bookbridg. I review on Amazon, where I'm a Top 500 reviewer, and Goodreads. You can always find me over on Twitter @jocatrobertson for any review requests.

  1. Sorry to hear about the leak! I had the same issue in June, it took weeks for the experts to come and the landlord was a pain –‘ Good luck with the insurance! Ooh, the arrival of a new grandchild is so exciting! Sending good vibes your way! 179 books? I’m a bit jealous, haha! That’s brilliant.
Now I want to go back to bed because the couch is less comfy! 😀

    1. Thank you Donna! I have to get up now as everyone wants poached eggs for breakfast and I’m the only one who can make them apparently!
Hopefully a better week is ahead for us! x

  2. Bit of a nightmare week, sounds like you deserve a lie-in. And makes my flat tyre, irreparable laptop and still no school place for OS look like tiny obstacles instead, so thanks for making me feel better! Surprised you got any reading and reviewing done, under the circumstances.

    1. Thankfully I had prepared the blog posts the week before so I only really read one book this week! Unheard of for me!
Sounds like you had a rubbish week too so big hugs and hopes for an extra good week next week to make up for it!
And do hope OS gets his school place sorted. I remember how stressful that is but thankfully always got the ones we wanted. X

  3. Oh no what a nightmare! I genuinely don’t think I’d know where to start if my roof let me down! Hope you enjoyed the well deserved lie-in – and hope it involved breakfast in bed!
