The Cosy Canal Boat Dream by Christie Barlow #BlogTour @ChristieJBarlow @HarperImpulse

I am delighted to be on the blog tour today for The Cosy Canal Boat Dream by Christie Barlow and thank you to Samantha Gale and Harper Impulse for inviting me!

Book Blurb…

Welcome to the Little Rock marina – where hearts are healed and dreams are made…

For the last two years Nell Andrews has been struggling to stay afloat. As her life tumbled down around her, the only safety net has been her cosy canal boat, The Nollie. Tucked away inside, Nell has found a place to heal her broken heart. And now she’s ready to move on and follow her dream…

Gorgeous Guy Cornish, with his easy Irish charm, makes him an instant hit with everyone at the marina, and the perfect person to help Nell with her project. But Guy has his own reasons for being at the marina, and a past that threatens to sink Nell’s dream…

My review…

As soon as I knew Christie Barlow was setting her new book on a canal boat, I knew I had to read it. I adore living near the canal and often walk my dog past the canal boats, my curiosity making up stories about the people who live in them as I do! We even have a Folk and Boat festival nearby which attracts an even bigger influx of the most intricately painted and detailed boats, all celebrated in a weekend of fun, food and frivolity! So I couldn’t wait to see how Christie brought her marina to life and what an AMAZING job she did! I just wanted to go there and drink hot chocolate in The Melting Pot as I soaked up the charming atmosphere of Little Rock marina.

I must start by saying that Christie Barlow always has THE BEST covers and a move to Harper Impulse hasn’t dulled her sparkle. This cover is just glorious and will no doubt be right up there in my top rated of 2017. As will this book! I have loved all Christies books so far but this one is on a different level! Likeable and relatable characters are pushed to their emotional limits in a plot that had me in tears far more than I was expecting! I had so much empathy for the affable Nell and the twists and turns in her life delivered the full emotional spectrum as I shared in her highs and lows. There was an ample supporting cast of quirky and interesting characters who felt convincing and genuine-honestly you are going to want to believe you can go and visit this marina!

This is definitely Christie Barlows best book so far. Her captivating and beautifully written plot managed to make me sob out loud (I mean, real snotty tears were shed by me!!) and then leave me with an overwhelming feeling of loss by the time I realised that it was all over! I do like to think though that Little Rock marina still lives on in some parallel universe somewhere and that one day I will get to go there again. Highly recommended by me!

The Cosy Canal Boat Dream: A funny, feel-good romantic comedy you won’t be able to put down! is published by Harper Impulse and is available to purchase now from Amazon.
