Come and Find Me by Sarah Hilary #BlogTour #ComeAndFindMe #RandomThingsTours

To celebrate the paperback publication of Come And Find Me by Sarah Hilary, I’m thrilled to be sharing my review with you all today. A huge thank you goes to Anne Cater for organising the tour and my invite.

About this book…

On the surface, Lara Chorley and Ruth Hull have nothing in common, other than their infatuation with Michael Vokey. Each is writing to a sadistic inmate, sharing her secrets, whispering her worst fears, craving his attention.

DI Marnie Rome understands obsession. She’s finding it hard to give up her own addiction to a dangerous man: her foster brother, Stephen Keele. She wasn’t able to save her parents from Stephen. She lives with that guilt every day.

As the hunt for Vokey gathers pace, Marnie fears one of the women may have found him – and is about to pay the ultimate price…

My Review…

I’ve been a huge fan of this series right from the start but I have to say that this book is definitely my favourite now and in my opinion it’s Sarah Hilary’s best book so far! It’s absolutely bloody brilliant and shows that this is the series that just keeps on giving!

I love how Marnie Rome has become so recognisable to the readers of this series that we feel we know her inside out. But Marnie’s personal life once again becomes entwined with her professional career when she investigates the disappearance of a prisoner after a riot at the same prison that houses her foster brother Stephan. I love how this thread is such an important part of who Marnie is and how she reacts throughout this series. We have now come to know the main protagonists so well that we don’t need to be spoon fed their feelings and reactions…although there are plenty here!!! There are dramas in their personal lives that run alongside the main plot and I have to say that some of them were rather shocking and emotional to say the least! The ending especially threw me totally and left me desperately wanting more!

Sarah Hilary writes so beautifully with an intelligence that keeps her plots interesting and utterly compelling throughout. Come and Find Me was compulsive reading from the very first page with an astute storyline where it became impossible to predict its outcome.

This is a must read series that every crime fan needs to read so if you haven’t discovered Sarah Hilary yet…WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN HIDING?! Come and Find Me can be read as a standalone novel but I guarantee you’ll be reading the previous books, if you haven’t already, after this one. This is a pretty perfect police procedural from start to finish.

Highly recommended by me!

I am a Norfolk girl living in leafy Cheshire with my grumpy Scotsman. A mum and nana who lives for my family but who is also addicted to reading (and Marmite!) I will read almost anything but my preferred genres to review are psychological thrillers, crime procedural novels or women's fiction. My kindle is my life but I also have a substantial bookshelf in my cosy reading room where I can go to escape the stresses of family life with plenty of tea and chocolate. I am a member of netgalley and bookbridg. I review on Amazon, where I'm a Top 500 reviewer, and Goodreads. You can always find me over on Twitter @jocatrobertson for any review requests.
