Lazy Sunday morning catch-up on #mychestnutreadingtree

Morning everyone and hope you all have had a fabulous Christmas and New Year. I thought I’d give a little update on why I’ve still kept my policy of not accepting any review requests at the moment. I was convinced I would be able to take it off in January this year as I thought I would be unemployed and be able to catch up on my ridiculously high TBR pile plus all the blog tour reads I agreed to do in January to stop me sobbing into my pjs with no job to get up for every morning. BUT…

I HAVE A JOB!! And it’s not just any job either but one in the same school I was working in before! I will be doing a slightly different role with more hours but I’m completely over the moon about it! It’s a temporary contract but I will think about that once it’s over as you never know what’s around the corner and I am gaining more experience which should also help me in the future. This means I will have even less time for reading and spending time on the blog as I’ve also decided to do some more qualifications connected to my new role. And due to an upcoming family wedding (I’m Mother of the Bride so need to spend time finding the perfect outfit and helping DD#3 with the final planning!) I’m probably going to dramatically cut down on reviews and blog tours in May.

So that’s my news! Hope you’re all enjoying all the brilliant books that have already been published in 2019. I’m completely regretting my Goodreads Challenge target of 250 books but I’m going to have lots of fun trying!

Happy Sunday and I hope to personally catch up with some of you at events and meet-ups soon!

Jo xx

I am a Norfolk girl living in leafy Cheshire with my grumpy Scotsman. A mum and nana who lives for my family but who is also addicted to reading (and Marmite!) I will read almost anything but my preferred genres to review are psychological thrillers, crime procedural novels or women's fiction. My kindle is my life but I also have a substantial bookshelf in my cosy reading room where I can go to escape the stresses of family life with plenty of tea and chocolate. I am a member of netgalley and bookbridg. I review on Amazon, where I'm a Top 500 reviewer, and Goodreads. You can always find me over on Twitter @jocatrobertson for any review requests.
