Lazy Easter Sunday catch up on My Chestnut Reading Tree

Happy Easter to you all! It’s been a while since we had a catch up so I thought I’d say a quick hello and give you some updates!

It’s been the school Easter holidays the last couple of weeks and we haven’t really done an awful lot so that’s given me a bit of reading time. I’m desperately trying to read and write up all my May blog tour posts as from the 23rd I’m having a couple of weeks off blogging and social media (but hopefully not from reading-in fact I’m convinced that when I’m found dead in my armchair I will have a book in my hand! NOTE TO FAMILY if I am please bury me with it because if there’s an afterlife I will need to know how that bad boy ends!!!) The reason being that my youngest daughter (my baby!!) is getting married!! Here’s a sneaky peak at my hat that arrived yesterday…

I don’t tend to do traditional hats as I’ve got a big head 😂 But that’s the reason for my upcoming break and to say I’m excited is a complete understatement!

I’ve had a good week of book post which has cheered me up no end. I had a bit of Bloggers Insecurity last week where I was suddenly hit by a feeling of not being “good enough”. And it wasn’t just related to book blogging either as I really did feel like a wasn’t a good enough blogger/mother/employee/general human being! No idea what brought it on but it did make me have a long hard look at my blogging “technique” as I just feel there is something missing but I just can’t put my finger on what! I’ve always blogged for myself and no one else but sometimes it does make me feel a little invisible. Bloggers FOMO is definitely a well documented condition and I have self diagnosed myself this week!! Saying that, when I was feeling down I did have an unexpected email that made me feel as though I DO have a lot to give so that kicked me up the backside and gave me a much needed boost! Anyway here is my book post…

Which one would you read first?

And just to let you know that for the 4th year running I have been nominated for an award at The Annual Bloggers Bash Awards! This year the categories have changed so although I’m up for The Best Book Review Blog there are a whopping 64 BRILLIANT bloggers in that category. Voting finishes soon at 21.00 on the 24th April so make sure you vote for your favourite blogs HERE!

Back to work next week so my reading time is going to be reduced once more but for the next two days I’m going to be enjoying this beautiful weather with a good book in the garden.

Happy reading!

I am a Norfolk girl living in leafy Cheshire with my grumpy Scotsman. A mum and nana who lives for my family but who is also addicted to reading (and Marmite!) I will read almost anything but my preferred genres to review are psychological thrillers, crime procedural novels or women's fiction. My kindle is my life but I also have a substantial bookshelf in my cosy reading room where I can go to escape the stresses of family life with plenty of tea and chocolate. I am a member of netgalley and bookbridg. I review on Amazon, where I'm a Top 500 reviewer, and Goodreads. You can always find me over on Twitter @jocatrobertson for any review requests.
