Sunshine and Second Chances by Kim Nash #blogtour @KimTheBookworm

I’m delighted to have been asked to be on the blog tour for Kim Nash’s THIRD BOOK Sunshine and Second Chances! Many thanks Kim and congratulations!

It’s never too late to be offered a second chance at life.

Debs is newly single, Fiona is caring for her mum, Samantha is grieving, and Liv has the perfect life – or so she’d like her friends to think…

This year, these four life-long friends are turning fifty, and Liv is determined they will honour their promise to each other – made on a beach at sunrise twenty-nine years before – to celebrate this milestone together.

And what better place than a gorgeous villa where they will be spoiled and enjoy the stunning beaches, picturesque fishing towns and glorious climate of the Algarve?

But time away from home doesn’t always make the heart grow fonder. Sometimes it makes the thought of returning to your life too hard to bear. Especially with more than one gorgeous Portuguese man making hearts unexpectedly flutter…

It begins as a reunion in the sunshine, but little do the four friends know what life-changing decisions they’ll all be making before their flight home.

A heart-warming, feel-good summer read about friendship, love and second chances.

How is this Kim Nash’s third book already?! Having loved her first two then it was a no-brainer for me to read Sunshine and Second Chances especially as I love romances featuring more mature women! And with this book having four friends getting together to celebrate hitting 50 it certainly celebrates the fact that it’s NEVER too late for that fairytale ending.

I related to most of the women here but Debs especially stood out for me. Left by her husband (although he did her a big favour as he was a totally waste of space! Although I did love to see Karma kick his butt!) she seeks comfort in food. Liv also struck a cord with me with her family taking her granted behind the doors of her “perfect” life. But it was lovely to see all the four friends escape the problems in their lives as they hit the Algarve their first time away together since their riotous trip to Corfu for their 21st birthdays. As they looked back at that those happier, fun times something magical starts to happen and relationships with others but more importantly their own selves start to be re-evaluated.

It was Debs story that became the focal point for me and I loved watching how her character developed through the storyline. Kim Nash writes such engaging narratives for her characters that it feels like your watching your own friends living their lives in a parallel existence! The sense of place came across perfectly here so that I could practically smell the Portuguese food and seaside atmosphere throughout. Just what was needed whilst sitting on my sofa, listening to the rain and wishing I was on holiday myself!

Kim Nash is a fabulous author of romantic fiction and delivers feelgood novels with relatable female characters. Take a chance on Sunshine and Second Chances-you won’t regret it!
