The Dog Sitter by Zara Stoneley @rararesources

One dog. Two strangers. An unfurgettable romance.

Wanted: someone nice, normal and trustworthy to housesit a beautiful cottage in the Lake District while the owner is away on a business trip. Must like dogs.

Wanting to escape from crap bosses and useless boyfriends, Becky jumps at the chance of the perfect escape – rest, relaxation and dog-sitting a very cute pooch called Bella!

But looking after Bella comes with a catch, namely gorgeous, brooding, Chris Hemsworth-worthy Ash James, who claims Bella is his dog and will stop at nothing to get her back!

Becky’s not about to hand over lovely Bella to any Tom, Dick or Ash. She’s determined to watch every move Ash James makes…even if it gets her very hot under the collar.

I’m delighted to be on the blog tour today for The Dog Sitter! I’ve read all of Zara Stoneleys books and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one but I think I’ve found a new favourite here! The Dog Sitter is just so wonderfully involving, with some appealing and engaging characters. I loved Becky and Ash but most of all I loved Bella, a furry bundle of energy with a mind of her own and a liking for keeping her human companions on their toes!

Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District, The Dog Sitter is the first in a new series and what a start it has got off to here. All of the positive attractions of the Lake District are touched upon and I was left craving gingerbread and bacon butties eaten in the open air like Becky and Ash did-doesn’t it always taste so much better that way?! Zara’s trademark is having animal characters that are just as important and as large as life as their human counterparts to such an extent that she always reminds me of Jilly Cooper with her humour and eminently readable and stylish romances.

The use of social media brings this entertaining tale bang up to date. It’s definitely one of Zara Stoneleys most thought provoking books so far-it’s easy to get sweep away in the images of perfect people living in a perfect world when all you can see is what they want you to see! But when you look below the surface things are usually never what they seem even for our four legged media stars.

This was a complete pageturner that kept me up until the early hours of the morning desperate for Becky to get her man…and her dog!! It is definitely my favourite of Zara Stoneleys books so far-funny, captivating and as sweet as that other favourite of mine…Kendall Mint Cake! A sumptuously delicious delight from start to finish!

Zara Stoneley is the USA Today bestselling author of The Wedding Date.

Born in a small village in the UK, she wanted to be a female James Herriot, a spy, or an author when she grew up. After many (many) years, and many different jobs, her dream of writing a bestseller came true.

She writes about friendship, dreams, love, and happy ever afters, and hopes that her tales make you laugh a lot, cry a little, and occasionally say ‘ahhh’.

Zara now lives in a Cheshire village with her family, a lively cockapoo called Harry, and a very bossy (and slightly evil) cat called Saffron.

Zara’s bestselling novels include ‘Bridesmaids’, ‘No One Cancels Christmas’, ‘The Wedding Date’, ‘The Holiday Swap’, ‘Summer with the Country Village Vet’, ‘Blackberry Picking at Jasmine Cottage’ and the popular Tippermere series – ‘Stable Mates’, ‘Country Affairs’ and ‘Country Rivals’.

I am a Norfolk girl living in leafy Cheshire with my grumpy Scotsman. A mum and nana who lives for my family but who is also addicted to reading (and Marmite!) I will read almost anything but my preferred genres to review are psychological thrillers, crime procedural novels or women's fiction. My kindle is my life but I also have a substantial bookshelf in my cosy reading room where I can go to escape the stresses of family life with plenty of tea and chocolate. I am a member of netgalley and bookbridg. I review on Amazon, where I'm a Top 500 reviewer, and Goodreads. You can always find me over on Twitter @jocatrobertson for any review requests.
