The Stalker by Sarah Alderson

Two newlyweds. One remote island. It was meant to be the perfect escape…

Newly-weds Liam and Laura are spending their honeymoon in paradise: just the two of them on a remote island off the coast of Scotland.

But they soon discover that all is not as it seems, and the island has a tragic past. And they can’t shake the feeling of being watched…

When one morning, they wake to find a message scratched into the window, their worst fears are confirmed. They aren’t alone on the island. And this stranger wants them dead.

…but it became the perfect nightmare.

If you enjoy reading twisty psychological thrillers that leave your heart racing, then you’ll love The Stalker from bestselling author Sarah Alderson

I love this authors books and I have this one on preorder but I couldn’t wait to read it! The Stalker is a darkly atmospheric read with a terrifying premise and it totally surpassed all my expectations!
Laura and Liam have had to delay their honeymoon to Greece due to family circumstances but now they feel ready for a break and they are off to a remote Scottish island for a week. But when they get there it quickly becomes obvious they aren’t the only ones there and that they have no means of escape…
I loved the tension created by the creepy setting and that “horror film” feel to the storyline. As it becomes more obvious that Laura and Liam are up against more than they expected on their supposedly relaxing break, my heart rate went through the roof and I wasn’t able to put the book down for a second as I was just too invested in the possible outcomes!! And I have to say that when all the threads eventually weave together, there are some shocking revelations!
A brilliantly addictive plot that’s delivered perfectly!

I am a Norfolk girl living in leafy Cheshire with my grumpy Scotsman. A mum and nana who lives for my family but who is also addicted to reading (and Marmite!) I will read almost anything but my preferred genres to review are psychological thrillers, crime procedural novels or women's fiction. My kindle is my life but I also have a substantial bookshelf in my cosy reading room where I can go to escape the stresses of family life with plenty of tea and chocolate. I am a member of netgalley and bookbridg. I review on Amazon, where I'm a Top 500 reviewer, and Goodreads. You can always find me over on Twitter @jocatrobertson for any review requests.
