You will all have to forgive me as it’s taking me sometime to get back down to earth after a fabulous time at the Theakstons Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate last weekend. I just had the most amazing few days meeting so many authors, publishers, fellow bloggers and readers. There were probably too many to mention but I must mention Noelle and her sidekick Claire from Crimebookjunkie Sarah from By the letter book reviews Kat from BCB and More Shell from Chelles book reviews Susan from Books from Dusk till Dawn Helen from Baatty about books Anne from Random things through my Letterbox and Janet at From First Page To Last
Highlights for me included a workshop on the Saturday morning for Mark Edwards and his new book The Devils Work which is out in September and this was followed by a Bloggers Brunch which was organised by the lovely Sam Eades and was attended by authors Mason Cross, Daniel Coles, Harry Bingham and Sarah Naughton. We had a lot of fun with a speed dating approach so that we could have a chat with them all!
But I think the highlight for me (apart from the most amazing reaction to meeting ME that made my day-you know who you are!!) was when I had an email in the middle of the Crime Novel of the Year awards ceremony to tell me I had won afternoon tea at Bettys with…..Linwood Barclay!!! So taking fellow blogger and roommate Sarah Hardy with me, we had the most amazing two hours with the man himself over a fabulous and delicious afternoon tea. Definitely an occasion that I will never forget!
And then to top it all, I came home with a huge pile of books! So until next year…it may take me that long to read all these books!!
