The Good Sister by Rachael Stewart #Review #PublicationDay @rararesources @rach_b52

Thrilled to be sharing my review of The Good Sister on publication day! Many thanks to Rachel Gilby for inviting me and for my review copy of the book!

About this book…

HE WASN’T HERS TO LOVE … BUT HER HEART DOESN’T CARE…

When Isla Evans agrees to switch lives with her rising star of a twin for three weeks, she has no idea the move will thrust her into the same bed as her teenage celebrity heartthrob, Bradley King. Trapped there at her sister’s request, she gives her desire free reign and finds herself falling hard and fast.

And she’s not alone.

Bradley wants a wife to tick all the boxes, save for one: love. It’s not part of the deal, never was, never will be. But when he returns home early to find his hopeful-fiancée behaving all sorts of different, he likes it. A lot. Suddenly, he wants a real marriage, with all the trimmings, and he will stop at nothing until he gets it.

But this Hollywood HEA faces one big hurdle—she’s not who he thinks she is…

My review…

Everyone knows that I like my romances on the spicy side sometimes so I was intrigued when I saw the blurb for The Other Sister as it also had my other favourite ingredient in my reading choices…..YES, it’s a twin book! But not like any twin book I’ve ever read before! I know my twins have tried swapping places before but I’m sure (make that HOPE!!) that they didn’t get themselves into this situation!

It was straight into the action when we first meet Isla Evans. She has agreed to change places with her identical twin sister for 3 weeks so that the famous actress can get some downtime back in the UK with her family. Which leaves Isla in the Hollywood home (and bed!) of her superstar twin. But when she awakes in that bed one morning, she has a BIG surprise! Her teenage heartthrob Bradley King has obviously been having a secret thing with her sister and thinks that she is Carrie!! Yes I understand that we do have to suspend belief a little bit here as we all know that even twins have slight differences in their, eh… “attitudes” shall we say? But as Bradley seemed to be thinking with another part of his anatomy I think we should let him off!! What follows is a very hot and steamy encounter between the pair where it quickly becomes apparent that Bradley kinda likes the subtle differences that have appeared in Carrie since he has been away from her in Santorini for the past 2 weeks! And that he wants the marriage proposal that he made to Carrie even more now!

I had such fun reading this and I don’t think I stopped smiling the whole way through! It’s such a fabulous romp and I loved everything about it. The characters had depth, the storyline was compact but with an interesting  side plot involving Bradley’s sister and PA, the sex scenes were playful and the ending was just perfect, if a little rushed. I wouldn’t describe it as erotica, just as a romance with added heat, and I loved the stylish way in which the author brought Bradley and Isla together.

I really, REALLY enjoyed The Good Sister and I’ll definitely read more books by Rachael Stewart in the future.

Meet the author…

Rachael Stewart adores conjuring up stories for the readers of Harlequin Mills & Boon and Deep Desires Press, with tales varying from the heart-warmingly romantic to the wildly erotic.

Despite a degree in Business Studies and spending many years in the corporate world, the desire to become an author never waned and it’s now her full-time pleasure, a dream come true.

A Welsh lass at heart, she now lives in Yorkshire with her husband and three children, and if she’s not glued to her laptop, she’s wrapped up in them or enjoying the great outdoors seeking out inspiration.

I am a Norfolk girl living in leafy Cheshire with my grumpy Scotsman. A mum and nana who lives for my family but who is also addicted to reading (and Marmite!) I will read almost anything but my preferred genres to review are psychological thrillers, crime procedural novels or women's fiction. My kindle is my life but I also have a substantial bookshelf in my cosy reading room where I can go to escape the stresses of family life with plenty of tea and chocolate. I am a member of netgalley and bookbridg. I review on Amazon, where I'm a Top 500 reviewer, and Goodreads. You can always find me over on Twitter @jocatrobertson for any review requests.
